Opening Day Parade

Our Annual Opening Day Parade is scheduled for April 27th at 10am.

Players should be in full uniform including hats with shirts tucked in. They do not have to wear their cleats, they can wear comfortable walking shoes and change into their cleats before their game.

Teams should gather at Sarah T Bolton Park starting at 9am, with everyone in place and ready at 9:45am. The 13th and Churchman Entrance will be closed at 9am, you will need to use either the 15th Ave Entrance or the 17th Ave Entrance:

Choose where in the park you would like your team to gather up. Once your team is all present, we will be lining up from the 13th and Churchman entrance down Mann Drive toward the baseball diamond:

PARADE ORDER: Tee Ball, Minors, Majors, Rookies
Tee Ball: Braves, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Rangers, Yankees
Minors: Blue Jays, Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Giants, Nationals, Tigers
Majors: Cardinals, Orioles, Reds, Red Sox
Rookies: Cardinals, Cubs, Red Sox, Rockies, White Sox, Yankees

PARADE ROUTE: Turn right out of the park onto Churchman Ave. Continue on until 9th Ave, turn right onto 9th Ave and continue to Hartman Park. Continue around the parking lot and onto the Majors Field where there will be people helping to organize the teams around the outfield for the Opening Ceremony.

Players are allowed to throw candy, although it is not required. Players will often eat the candy as they walk, so be sure to have a bag to put their trash in to keep it out of your pockets and off the street!

Players should stand quietly and respectfully during the welcome speech and Hall of Fame Induction. We are planning to keep it short and sweet so no one gets too antsy. After the first pitch is thrown out, the Majors Game will get started with the other divisions starting soon after. If you aren't playing in the first game, we hope you will hang around the ballpark to watch the other games, have lunch and enjoy the fun activities we have planned!
