BGLL is operated entirely by volunteers. Volunteers are harder to come by every year but they are essential to the success and sustainability of our league. Make a positive impact on our young athletes by helping us create a fun and positive environment where kids can be kids!

We know that time is a precious commodity for parents and we are deeply grateful to all those that have donated their time to work a concession shift, coach a team or help with an event.
You choose how much time you are able to give the league, some opportunities require more time than others.
+ Being a Board Member is a year round commitment. Board Members can expect to spend a significant amount of time on league activities with mandatory monthly meetings.
+ Coaching is a season long commitment. Coaches can expect to give several hours a week between practices, games and communicating with families.
+ Team Parent is a season long commitment. Team Parents can expect to be present for game time at minimum.
+ Concession Workers can volunteer for as little as one three hour shift, up to as many shifts as you can!
+ You will NEVER be asked to work the concession stand during your players game
+ Event volunteers will give time for planning and carrying out whichever event they would like to participate in.
*Unless you are an approved volunteer, you may not enter the dugout or step onto the field during practices or games.
*Registering to volunteer will not guarantee you a position. For example, if three people sign up to be a team parent for the same team, the coaches can choose which parent they want to have in the dugout helping during games.

Volunteering Requirements: Volunteer status resets every year on October 1st, and all volunteers who wish to continue must reapply.
1. Volunteer Application:
+ The first step to becoming a volunteer is to complete the Little League Volunteer Application. This is easily completed through the same account you use to register your player for the season. You will need to answer a few questions about criminal history, consent to a background check and upload a photo of your government issued ID.
+ A member of the Board of Directors will review the application and if approved, a link will be sent to your registered email to complete a full background check.
2. Background Check:
+ Every volunteer is required to complete a background check through JDPalantine, paid for by the league. The background check is thorough and comprehensive, and includes criminal history, a search of the National Sex Offender Registry, the US Center for SafeSport's Centralized Disciplinary Database, USA Baseball's Ineligible List, and Little League International Ineligible/Suspended List.
+ Pending investigation, charges, convictions, guilty plea, no contest plea or admission to any crime involving or against a minor will automatically disqualify the applicant.
+ Inclusion on the US Center for SafeSport's Centralized Disciplinary Database, USA Baseball's Ineligible List, or Little League International Ineligible/Suspended List will automatically disqualify the applicant.
+ The Board of Directors have final say over all volunteers and reserve the right to turn down any volunteer. No volunteers will have tenure or be guaranteed a role.
3. Abuse Awareness Training:
+ Little League requires that all volunteers complete Child Abuse Awareness Training. When this requirement began, a training was offered through USA Baseball and other appropriate trainings were also accepted. Beginning October1st, 2024, training is available through Little League University. This new Little League Abuse Awareness Training takes around 30 minutes and is the only course that will be accepted. Click here to access the training portal.
+ After successfully passing the course, download your certificate and email it to us at [email protected]
